Westpac NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler has named his squad for Game I of the 2024 State of Origin series, with three debutants and five players from 2022 making the cut.
The most notable omission from the squad is Bulldogs winger Josh Addo-Carr, who was dropped after a disappointing performance in last year's series.
The debutants are all exciting young players who have impressed in the NRL this season. They are: - Cameron Murray (South Sydney Rabbitohs) - Isaiah Papali'i (Parramatta Eels) - Daniel Tupou (Sydney Roosters)
The five players returning from 2022 are: - Tom Trbojevic (Manly Sea Eagles) - Latrell Mitchell (Sydney Roosters) - Stephen Crichton (Penrith Panthers) - James Tedesco (Sydney Roosters) - Cameron Munster (Melbourne Storm)
The Blues will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing loss in last year's series. They will face the Queensland Maroons in Game I at Accor Stadium on June 7.
Conclusion
The NSW Blues have named a strong squad for Game I of the 2024 State of Origin series. With a good mix of experience and youth, the Blues will be confident of avenging their loss in last year's series. All eyes will be on the three debutants, who have the opportunity to make a name for themselves on the biggest stage of all.
