Club Universidad Nacional to Face Club Puebla in Liga MX Quarterfinals

Club Universidad Nacional (UNAM) will face Club Puebla in the quarterfinals of the Liga MX Clausura 2023 tournament. The first leg of the tie will be played at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario in Mexico City on Thursday, March 16, while the second leg will be held at the Estadio Cuauhtémoc in Puebla on Sunday, March 19.
UNAM finished the regular season in second place in the Liga MX standings, while Puebla finished in seventh place.
UNAM has won the Liga MX title three times, most recently in the Apertura 2020 tournament. Puebla has never won the Liga MX title, but they were runners-up in the Clausura 2021 tournament.
The winner of the tie between UNAM and Puebla will face either Club América or Cruz Azul in the semifinals.
