Greater Los Angeles Area
In the past 24 hours, the Greater Los Angeles Area in California has experienced two earthquakes with a magnitude of M15 or greater. These earthquakes occurred on Monday afternoon and Monday evening, with the latter being followed by several strong aftershocks.
Southern California
In the past 24 hours, Southern California has experienced a total of four earthquakes with a magnitude of M15 or greater. In addition to the two earthquakes in the Greater Los Angeles Area, two additional earthquakes occurred in the region.

One of the most significant earthquakes in recent days was a magnitude 4.9 earthquake that occurred near Barstow on Monday at 1 pm. This earthquake was widely felt across Southern California.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the earthquake was followed by several strong aftershocks, including a magnitude 3.5 aftershock that occurred about 30 minutes later.
The USGS is continuing to monitor the situation and has issued a warning that additional aftershocks are possible.
