Manchester City thrash Manchester United in derby day demolition

Foden and Haaland score hat-tricks as City run riot at Old Trafford

Manchester City have dished out a derby day thrashing to Manchester United, with Erling Haaland and Phil Foden scoring hat-tricks to halt any talk of a United revival under Erik ten Hag.

City dominated from start to finish at Old Trafford, with Haaland opening the scoring after just seven minutes. Foden doubled the lead just before half-time, and Haaland made it three early in the second half.

United pulled one back through Antony, but Foden restored City's three-goal advantage with a stunning strike. Haaland then completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot, before Foden added his third in the dying minutes.

The result leaves City five points clear at the top of the Premier League, while United are now 11 points behind in third place.
